Nelson honored as Ambassador of the Year
SIDNEY -- Michaela Nelson was recognized as the 2024 Ambassador of the Year at the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.
She said she was surprised to be recognized as Ambassador of the Year.
The Chamber Ambassador of the Year award recognizes exceptional dedication and enthusiasm in fostering community connections. In the introduction, Nelson was described as someone whose "unwavering commitment to promoting local businesses and engaging with the community has set a remarkable standard."
She said she's been a member of the Chamber for several years, possibly since the mid-1990s. She has volunteered as an Ambassador at least 10 years, she said.
She started volunteering as an Ambassador because she could learn about the community.
"I thought it was a good idea to assist the Chamber and their mission, and that is something that I enjoy -- knowing more about the businesses in town and new businesses. It's just a good opportunity to support the community as well as the Chamber," she said.
As a Chamber Ambassador, her unwavering commitment to promoting local businesses and engaging with the community has set a remarkable standard. Her willingness to serve on committees and support Chamber projects has helped make events just like this one successful. Michaela Nelson's genuine passion for the Chamber's mission shines through her ambassadorial role, making her an invaluable asset.
She said after the banquet she was honored to receive the recognition.
The banquet was held January 18 at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.
