SIDNEY, Neb. – Standout boys and girls basketball players from across the region were honored Monday when the Western Conference announced its all-conference selections for the 2023–24 winter sports season.

Sidney High School was well-represented on both squads. For the boys, Landon Riddle, Keian Kaiser and Alek Doty were named to the all-conference team, with Reid Fiscus and Lance Holly earning honorable mention honors. On the girls side, Kayla Westby, Carli Black and Kierra Schrader made the all-conference team, while Ryan Dillehay and Lilee Wieser were named honorable mention.

Scottsbluff’s Nate Kelley, Rylee Meininger and Tre Boswell headlined the boys team, with Keon Delgado and Dez Smith receiving honorable mention. For the Lady Bearcats, Ava Reed and Noemi Gurrola were selected, along with honorable mentions Kinzley Hess and Mia Bowles.

Mitchell’s Waymond Banks earned all-conference honors for boys basketball, with Michael Placencio and Clayton Shultz receiving honorable mention. Kate Pieper was named to the girls team, with Evelyn Morales and Morgan Paetow earning honorable mention nods.

Gering was led by Jack Maser and Gage Ruziska on the boys team, while Jacey Cochran, Makenzie Todd and Jacelyn Brown were honored on the girls side. Max Judy and Ryland Ray earned honorable mention for the boys; Kiera Baard and Aubrey Anderson for the girls.

Chadron’s Brady Daniels and Thomas Smith were selected for boys basketball, with Talon Jelinek and Tobin Landen receiving honorable mention. Gracie Calkins and Jezy Alcorn made the girls team, joined by honorable mentions Reese Ritterbush and Sophie Watson.

Alliance’s Espen Lanik and Seth Meyring were named to the boys team, while Macey Seebohm earned girls honors. Payton Boyer and Trevor Zurn received honorable mention for the boys, with Addison Weber and Brooke Bailey recognized on the girls side.
