Born on March 23, 1951, in Sidney, Nebraska, Dale was the son of Doyle Marshall and Effie Leota (Thompson) Foland. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a love of the land that would shape much of his life. A proud graduate of Sidney High School's Class of 1969, Dale was a dedicated student-athlete, participating in football, wrestling, and track.

Dale went on to attend Kearney State College, where he met Jolene Frye. They married and welcomed a son, Craig Scott. Dale eventually returned to Sidney to work alongside his father and brother Kenneth at the family business, Foland Farm Machinery—a role that suited him well. Dale had a lifelong passion for tractors and farming equipment, and he took great pride in his work and the legacy of the family business.

Those who knew Dale will remember his gruff presence—rooted in his community, and always happiest when surrounded by family or talking about tractors. In his later years, he found companionship and joy in his friendship with Jacque Worster-Borges.

Dale is survived by his son Craig (Rebecca) Foland of IA, and their son Tucker; his sisters Virginia (Gene) Hokom of Lexington, NE, and Joyce (Rich) Levick of Bayard, NE; his sister-in-law Fereda Foland of Sidney, NE, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Tiffanie, his parents Doyle and Effie, and his brother Kenneth.
