Braden Frager scored nine of his 21 points in a 12-0 first-half run, as Nebraska overcame a slow start to down Midland, 91-50, Monday night in an exhibition game at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Frager, a redshirt freshman from Lincoln Southwest, hit a trio of 3-pointers in a span of 1:40 as Nebraska turned an 18-16 advantage with just over nine minutes remaining in the half into a 14-point lead in a span 2:09 before extending the margin to 44-26 at the break.

Frager finished 6-of-12 from 3-point range, as Nebraska hit 15 3-pointers in the win and improved to 20-0 all-time against in-state opponents in exhibition play.

Pryce Sandfort was the only other Husker to finish in double figures, as he had 18 points, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. In all, 13 of the 15 players who saw action broke into the scoring column while no Husker played more than 19 minutes.

Nebraska, which never trailed, scored the first seven points and built an early 12-4 lead in the first three minutes after Sandfort’s second 3-pointer of the game. The Warriors ran off six straight points and was within two points as the Huskers, who hit five of their first eight from the field cooled off before Frager took over.

The freshman hit three consecutive 3-pointers before a Berke Büyüktuncel basket stretched the lead to 30-16. Midland pulled to within nine on two occasions, the last being with 4:18 left in the half on a 3-poitner from Amari Rahaman but could get no closer. Sandfort keyed an 11-2 spurt over the final 4:02 to send the Huskers to the locker room with a 44-26 lead.

Sandfort, who played just 18 minutes, keyed an early second-half run, scoring seven straight points in a 13-0 spurt that gave NU a 59-30 lead after a Frager 3-pointer with 14:46 left. The Huskers out-scored Midland, 30-7 in the first nine minutes of the second half to build a 41-point cushion and cruised to the win.

Nick Dolezal led Midland with nine points, as Midland shot 32.8 percent from the field, including 4-of-26 from 3-point range.

The Huskers open the season on Monday, Nov. 3 when they take on West Georgia. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and tickets are available by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets. The game will be carried on B1G+ and the Huskers Radio Network.

Williams Shares Big Ten Weekly Honor

Nebraska sophomore Kenneth Williams was honored Monday, as he was named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week following the Huskers’ 28-21 win over Northwestern.

Williams returned the second half kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, marking the Huskers’ first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2017 to give Nebraska a 14-6 lead. On the day, Williams finished with 124 kickoff return yards. He now leads the nation in kickoff returns at 34.7 yards per return and has two returns of at least 85 yards this season.

Williams, who shared the weekly honor with Rutgers’ Jai Patel, is the first Husker to receive the conference special teams award since punter Brian Buschini last season.

The Huskers return to action this Saturday, when they host No. 23 USC. Kickoff for the matchup with the Trojans is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be on NBC and the Husker Sports Network.

Prince Named to Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List

Nebraska's Britt Prince was named to the list of 20 women's college basketball players on the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Preseason Watch List on Monday, Oct. 27. The Lieberman Award was the first of the Naismith Starting 5 award watch lists announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Prince, a 5-11 sophomore from Omaha, Neb., returns for her second season at Nebraska after averaging 13.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals as a true freshman.

Prince, who was a two-time Gatorade and MaxPreps Nebraska High School Player of the Year at Elkhorn North, earned Big Ten All-Freshman honors while leading the Huskers to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

In the NCAA Tournament, Prince led the Big Red with 14 points and six assists against Louisville, after powering Nebraska to two wins at the Big Ten Tournament by averaging 17.0 points and 5.3 assists over three games, including a career-high-tying 24 points against Big Ten Tournament champion and NCAA No. 1 seed UCLA.

Prince was the USBWA National Freshman of the Week (Jan. 21) after going for 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a career-high six steals in a road win at Iowa (Jan. 16), when she hit a career-high five three-pointers.

Prince got her sophomore campaign off to a solid start with a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists to go along with five rebounds in an exhibition victory over Mount Marty (Oct. 24).

Now in its 27th year, the Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.

Fan voting for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard Award opens the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 31 at http://www.hoophallawards.com. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the Lieberman Award will be narrowed to 10, before trimming the list to just five players in late February. The five finalists will be presented to the Hall of Fame's selection committee, which will be composed of women's college basketball personnel, media members, head coaches and Hall of Famers.

The 2025 winner of the Lieberman Award was UConn's Paige Bueckers.

Prince leads Nebraska on the court to open the season against Northwestern State on Monday, Nov. 3 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-off between the Huskers and Lady Demons is set for noon (CT), following Nebraska's annual Sizemore Sportsmanship Pep Rally. The rally, which is scheduled to include more than 80 schools from across Nebraska and more than 4,000 middle-grade students and accompanying adults, will begin at 9:30 a.m.
