SIDNEY, Neb. - The Sidney girls and boys basketball teams combined for mixed results at the Holiday Shootout held Monday and Tuesday at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility.

The Sidney girls shook off a five-day Christmas moratorium to post two wins. Sidney opened play with a 37-36 victory over North Platte in a defensive contest, despite shooting 22 percent from the floor. The Lady Raiders sealed the win at the free-throw line, where they went 13-of-17, including two game-winning free throws by Reagan Nesbitt with 8.7 seconds remaining.

Sidney led 16-5 at halftime and carried a 30-25 advantage into the fourth quarter before North Platte briefly pulled ahead late. Nesbitt finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Laramey Misegadis added 10 points. North Platte was led by Payton Jones with 12 points.
