Creek Valley and Banner County split games in Chappell
The Banner County Wildcats visited the Creek Valley Storm Friday night and both schools came away with a victory.
The girls game was dominated by the wildcats. They pitched a 12-0 shutout before the storm got on the board late in the first quarter. Junior Faith Loomis led Banner County in scoring that included 6 points she got going 6 for 12 from the free throw line. Sophomore point guard Karlye Dittbenner and freshmen standout Kassie Loutzenhiser also had a great game helping to keep the wildcats in front of the storm. Banner County took the game, 37-19.
The boys game offered an age and size mismatch that put Banner County at a disadvantage. While the wildcats have one junior and no seniors, the storm were led by 6'5" senior Mason Timm and 6'1" senior Zander Polk. Timm and Polk were joined by 6'2" sophomore PJ Schultz in putting the lion share of the points on the board, with junior Luke Fletcher serving as point guard and picking up points from the perimeter.
The storm pulled away early and stayed out in front as the wildcats fell into foul trouble. Creek Valley won 47-21.
