I-80 in Wyoming reopens after winter storm

Dec. 27, 9:30 a.m. UPDATE: According to WYDOT, I-80 in both directions has reopened to all traffic. The Interstate is reported to be slick with blowing snow in spots. Caution is advised while traveling.
WYOMING — Officials in Wyoming have shut down most of Interstate 80 as crews work to dig them out of a snow storm.
The closure of I-80 stretches from Cheyenne, Wyo. to Evanston, Wyo. — near the Utah State Line — in both directions. Cheyenne to the Nebraska state line remains open, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).
WYDOT believes the Interstate will reopen sometime between 10:00 a.m. and noon Monday.
The closures started in the western part of the state in the late morning of Sunday, Dec. 26, and spread east throughout the day.
The National Weather Service has issued multiple snow squall warnings in the state throughout the day, especially along the I-80 corridor.
