Luke Mills, Dylan Bloom to open Downtown Sounds this summer
SIDNEY - The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce announced who will be playing the first Downtown Sounds this summer.
During their acoustic performance at Beans & Steams Coffee House, Nebraska country music artists, Luke Mills and Dylan Bloom, said they will be returning to Sidney in June for the free summer concert series.
“We’re both from small town Nebraska so I feel like we fit in pretty well with small town Nebraska. It's pretty natural and a lot of fun," Bloom said.
Bloom is from North Bend and Mills is a Holdrege native. The pair played the first live music performance at the Sidney coffee shop for a sold out crowd on Friday night.
Mills and Bloom left for Greeley, Colo. Saturday morning to attend the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards. Mills was nominated for Song of the Year for his new single, "Answers on the Wind." Bloom's guitar player, Josh Kidney, earned a Musician of the Year nomination.
The June show will be Mills' fourth trip to Sidney in a year. Mills kicked off the 2021 Downtown Sounds Summer Concert Series. Friday night's show was Bloom's first time performing in the southern Panhandle town.
With their full bands, Bloom will open for Mills at 6 p.m. on June 10. Mills says they will have plenty of new music to share to start the summer concert series.
“There is going to be new music from both of us coming out in the next few months, and by the time we get to this summer, I think some of our biggest songs will be taking root and running around the radio," Mills said.
Mills and Bloom encourage everyone to come out to watch them perform downtown. Food and drink vendors will be a part of Downtown Sounds again this summer.
"Spread the word and let's get as many people downtown as possible," Mills said.
