DENVER, Colo. -- Nationally ranked MSU-Denver defeated the Chadron State volleyball team in four sets tonight, winning 25-20, 25-27, 25-16 and 25-14.
 
The Eagles fall to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play while the Roadrunners improved to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
 
CSC hit .189 in the loss compared to their opponents .318 attack percentage.
 
In set one, the Eagles led 5-4 but MSU-Denver scored five straight points to gain a 9-5 lead that they never lost.
 
Trailing 24-21 in set two, Chadron State rallied off three straight points to tie the set at 24. The Roadrunners took the lead 25-24 but a Bella Adams kill and two attack errors by MSU-Denver gave the Eagles the set victory.
 
Chadron State never led in sets three and four giving the hosts the match victory.
 
Aiyana Fujiyama, a junior from Wahiawa, Hawaii, led CSC with 11 kills and an attack percentage of .526 in the match. Lexi Hurtado, a graduate student from Aurora, Colorado and Adams, a sophomore from Pueblo, Colorado, both added seven kills.
 
Four Roadrunners finished with double digit kills.
 
Kendyl Kirkwood had 31 assists for the Eagles.
 
Defensively, Hurtado led the team in digs with 12 and Fujiyama and Adams each had three blocks.
 
The Eagles return home for two days before they head to Wayne, Nebraska for a matchup with NCAA Division 2's #3 ranked team, Wayne State.
