After nearly three years on the job in Kimball, Police Chief Jose Ruiz is expected to leave his post next week.
Ruiz has opted not to speak publicly about his exit until the city council accepts his resignation at next Tuesday's meeting. Sargent Jose Barboza will be voted on to take the position of interim chief while the mayor begins the search for Kimball's next police chief.
