Administration remains tight on spending

SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District received a positive review on its 2022-2023 audit report Monday.

Julie Peetz, of Rauner & Associates, met with the school board in the Monday, December 11 meeting. She said the audit was given an unmodified (clean) opinion, which is a sought-after result, she said.

She said the District's goal should be to have at least three months of cash reserves. She noted some accounts are under the three months, while others are at or a little above three months' reserve.

Superintendent Andrew Farber noted staff continues to operate on a tight budget, making cuts where possible. He credits Matt McCay with reducing expenditures by $50,000.
