SIDNEY -- Savor and Grace is a step closer to pairing the right cheese and wine at it's downtown location.

Jill Sauder appeared before the Sidney City Council seeking a Class C Liquor License.

"My name is Jill Sauder. I am the owner of Savor and Grace here in Sidney. We serve lunch currently. We are doing sandwiches, and salads. Our kind of claim to fame is what we call a graze box which is like a charcuterie board but inside of a box, easy to take and run. We just recently actually expanded into a new downtown building on March 11th," Sauder said in the council meeting.

Early this year, Savor and Grace moved from West Illinois Street to 10th Avenue, the former location of Sam & Louie's and Boss City Brewing.

"With our expansion, we are actually seeking a liquor license because what pairs better than wine and cheese," she said.

The council approved the request with a 5-0 vote.

The council also heard from Glenda Condon. Condon is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and asked the council's support for Constitution Day and Constitution Week.

"It's a lineage organization, and new members must prove direct lineage to someone who supported the Revolution. It doesn't need to be someone who fought. They can have supplied housing or food or horses or signed a petition or paid taxes; all sorts of things," she said.

September 17 through September 23 is Constitution Week, an annual recognition of the signing of the Constitution. She said there will be displays at the stand-alone libraries in the county.
