LODGEPOLE -- One hundred years in the making, the Lodgepole community celebrated its history August 30 through September 2.

The celebration started 5 p.m. Friday, August 30, at The Steer In diner.

Saturday started with a golf tournament at the Chappell Golf Course, a softball tournament and the Tractor Pull on Front Street.

The Car Show at noon offered an opportunity to display a variety of motorcycles, cars and trucks.

A Taco Bar was offered at the Panther Activity Center Saturday afternoon followed by a magic show. 

Sunday started with a 9 a.m. church service at South Park, followed by a volleyball tournament at 10 a.m., a quilt show and raffle at 10:30 a.m. and bingo at 2 p.m. The quilt show was by the Ladies Guild of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lodgepole. The Ladies Guild makes quilts and sends them to overseas locations. Winner of the quilt raffle was Tommy Nelson.

A Street Dance closed the night  with music from "Victory Underground."

Monday morning started with the parade on Bates Boulevard. The 10 a.m. display was represented by cheerleaders, Lodgepole High School classes, veterans, Lodgepole Volunteer Fire Department, veterans and numerous other organizations. Grand Marshals were Jerry and Maryann Dickinson. 

Following the parade, focus turned to South Park and the annual community BBQ lunch. The event also included pies by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Price Cream celebrating their business anniversary, bounce house entertainment for children and historic and musical programs. 

The celebration also included a horseshoe tournament.
