KIMBALL -- The Kimball Concert Association's 2024-25 season started off with a blast on Monday evening. A blast from a brass quintet, that is!

Harry McNees auditorium at the Kimball Jr./Sr. High School was the setting for the first performance of the KCA's 49th season. An audience of over 200 people was treated to a dazzling display of artistry and virtuosity, with a little humor thrown in for good measure.

Founded in 2010 and based out of Chicago, the Alliance Brass quintet consists of two trumpets, a trombone, tuba, and French horn. They have recorded three albums, and have wowed audiences in 35 states and in Mexico with musical genres ranging from classical to rock, jazz to pop, as
well as a healthy dose of music from the silver screen.

Highlighting the evening's performance were several selections from John Williams' Oscar winning Star Wars score, as well as a rousing encore rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching in" which brought the audience to their feet for a second standing ovation.

Speaking to the audience before the concert, KCA president, Karen Morrison was excited to announce that they had sold over 200 memberships so far this season. The Kimball Concert Association's next concert will be on November 11th, and will feature pops pianist Jason Coleman.
