SIDNEY -- Tonight was a night for a brighter tour of lights and Christmas decorations as the All Is Bright Christmas Tour catered to people who are sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds, toning it down while still enjoying the celebration.

This is the second year for the All Is Bright Christmas Tour. The concept started with Cheyenne County Tourism Director Kendra Mitchell promoting the concept of an indoor Christmas lights tour. The concept continues to evolve with a new theme and donations from various groups. Mitchell credits the Sensory Night to feedback from the first year.

"This is our second year doing All Is Bright and last year we heard from a couple families that their children needed a little bit different atmosphere, a little more light, and a little bit quieter place. So, we've turned our music down, dimmed all of our bright, flashy lights, and just tried to make it a little bit more fun focusing on the kids tonight," Mitchell said.

Miky Patricio said the night was a very positive experience.

"It's actually a lot calmer and a lot more fun than I expected it to be; not having loud music, or bright lights makes it easier for the kids to focus on things around them rather than being overwhelmed by everything," she said.

In addition to the lower volume and brighter lights, children had the opportunity for coloring and sensory activities. There was also hot cocoa and popcorn available. Proceeds from the hot cocoa sales were donated to the Sidney and Greater Area Fund.

The All Is Bright Christmas Tour continues December 13-14.
