Adult Winter Reading program in session
KIMBALL -- It’s that season again for Kimball adults to participate in the Winter Reading Program.
Visit the Kimball Public Library to pick up your book genre bingo sheet and put your name on the list of participants.
The program runs through Feb. 28, and in that time, participants will choose a book to read and once you’ve completed the book, you can check off the genre that it corresponds with.
Once you have completed five in a row, you can bring your sheet into the library to be verified and have your name entered into the raffle drawing.
The raffle drawings will be at random throughout January and February, and participants who have completed a bingo will have the chance to win prizes such as a gift card to Barnes and Noble or a booklight.
So far, 17 people are signed up and one person has completed a bingo.
The purpose of the bingo game is to encourage reading, especially outside of the normal genre a person would read.
“This offers a fun way for them to get outside of their comfort zone and read genres they normally wouldn’t,” said Librarian Cheryl Paul.
A few of the genres include steampunk, science fiction, romance, true crime, and autobiography.
