KIMBALL -- The City Council approved the creation of two new study committees for city council members and citizens to oversee.

In the meeting on Jan. 7, the council approved creating two committees: A Lighthouse Subdivision Project Committee and a Building Committee.

The Lighthouse Committee will work with the Lighthouse Subdivision for their development agreement. The Building Committee will explore the properties that the city currently owns and determine the value and necessity of owning them.

The two committees will gather information, study the issue at hand, and make recommendations to the City Council.

Each committee will have two members from the council and be seeking two community members to join each committee as well.

Council Members Austin Garner and Greg Robinson will serve on the Lighthouse Committee, and Garner and Jamie Murdoch will serve on the Building Committee.
