Coach Ekart Meets with Next Year’s Team

Sidney – New Red Raider Football Coach Todd Ekart was at Sidney High School this past Friday to meet with players in the in-coming freshman through senior classes that are interested in playing football next fall. Ekart told the players that he is excited to be back in Sidney and eager to get started building the football program. He gave the players a little insight into his expectations for the football program and what the players could expect.

Ekart returns to Sidney after spending the last three years as head football coach at Beatrice High School. He brings a wealth of head coaching experience with him, including leading the Red Raiders to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2013 and 2014. Ekart replaces Chris Koozer at the helm of the Sidney program after coach Koozer accepted the head football coaching position at Norfolk High School.

The Raiders are set to start summer conditioning and weight training the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Sidney will open their 2021 football season on Friday August 27^th with a road game at Bridgeport.
