Police look for dog's owner after it was struck by deputy's car

SIDNEY, NE — One of man's best friends is recovering after being accidentally struck by a Cheyenne County Sheriff's Deputy's vehicle Tuesday night.

SIDNEY, NE — One of man's best friends is recovering after being accidentally struck by a Cheyenne County Sheriff's Deputy's vehicle Tuesday night. 

Authorities say it happened at about 8 p.m. last night near the intersection of Illinois St. and Fort Sidney Road. 

The dog was taken to Creekside Animal Hospital for treatment of its injuries. Police say the dog is stable at this time. 

Now, the search is on for the owner. Police ask that if the dog is yours or if you know the owner, to contact the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office at 308-254-2922 or Creekside Veterinarians at 308-254-4998.
