Authorities alerted Cheyenne County residents of a scam on Friday.

Cheyenne County County Sheriff, Adam Frerichs, says some community members have been receiving phone calls from people representing themselves as Medicare.

According to Frerichs, the scammers ask people if they have received their new 2022 Medicare card. They ask for personal information including name, address, and your old Medicare card information.

"In a legitimate call, they would have all of that information already," Frerichs said.
