Chadron stays local with new activities director

Crawford Public Schools Activities Director Rick Barry has been named the next Activities Director at Chadron Public Schools.

CHADRON - Crawford Public Schools Activities Director Rick Barry has been named the next Activities Director at Chadron Public Schools.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Chadron Schools Superintendent Ginger Meyer said that Barry was offered and accepted the position.

Meyer said of Barry, “Rick brings leadership experience to the district. Rick exhibits great communication skills and a passion for student success.”

Barry has spent the past 15 years at Crawford Public Schools serving as the schools activities director, and over that time has coached football, boys and girls basketball, and track and field.

Barry is a graduate of both Chadron High and Chadron State College.

Meyer closed by saying, “We are excited for him to join our team.”

Barry will assume his new duties in June.
