NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Preparations are underway for the 47th Annual Irish Fest.

It will feature a mini carnival, prizes, food and fun jumps. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction available.

The event will help raise money for the North Platte Catholic School system.

“I’m really grateful for our former superintendent Bill McGahan who had the vision and to create Irish Fest back in 1975, “said Wendy Dodson, North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Trust Executive Director. “At the time, it was really because the school really needed another stream of funding to fund the school budget and since that time, it’s remained not only an important fundraiser, but also a friendraiser. It’s just a great opportunity to welcome in the community of North Platte, our Catholic school community with a day of good old fashion family fun.”

The event is set for Sunday, Feb. 27 from 12 pm to 3 pm at Saint Patrick’s High School.
