SIDNEY – The Sidney Red Raider Golf Team, paced by John Beier’s runner-up finish, ended the day in fifth place at the Sidney Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament, at Hillside Golf Course, was moved from Wednesday to Friday because of wind and weather conditions. The Raider golfers completed their rounds one stroke behind Alliance for fourth and just six shots back of Chadron who captured third.

John Beier paced Sidney with an 80, which was only one shot short of capturing medalist honors. That went to Ogallala’s Jake Hiltibrand with a 79. For Sidney, Cole Hanley was 15th with a 91, Jack Lilley 20th at 94 and Logan Johnson 24th with a 95.

Sidney will be back in action on Tuesday when the Red Raiders travel to Scenic Knolls Golf Course in Mitchell for the Mitchell Invitational.
