Inmate attacks Scotts Bluff County Detention Center officers
A Scotts Bluff County Detention Center officer suffered minor injuries when he and other officers were attacked by an inmate at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday.
By News Channel NebraskaSCOTTSBLUFF - A Scotts Bluff County Detention Center officer suffered minor injuries when he and other officers were attacked by an inmate at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday.
Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman says detention center personnel were contacting an inmate in his cell regarding behavior issues. When officers entered the cell, the inmate attacked the officers with his fists.
The officer was checked by medical personnel and returned to duty.
The inmate was transported to Regional West Medical Center for treatment on injuries he suffered during the altercation.
The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which will include a review of all reports and video.
The Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office will decide on the appropriate course of action upon completion of reports.
