On a cool, calm, and dry day at Monument Shadows Golf Course on Wednesday, the Sidney Red Raider boys golf team battled to a third-place finish in the Gering Invitational Golf Tournament.

GERING - On a cool, calm, and dry day at Monument Shadows Golf Course on Wednesday, the Sidney Red Raider boys golf team battled to a third-place finish in the Gering Invitational Golf Tournament. Sidney finished with a team total of 338. Scottsbluff edged out Cheyenne Central by two strokes for the team title with a 326.

John Beyer paced three Sidney golfers in the top-20, shooting a one-over-par 37 on the back nine to finish with a 79, and a third-place medal. Wyatt Heckenlively and Asher Wadzinski both shot 86 to finished 17th and 18th respectively, while Logan Johnson was two shots back with an 87 to end up in 21st. Jack Lilley fired an 89 to end up 26th

Sidney is back on the links Monday, May 9th at the Cozad Invitational at Cozad Country Club.
