SIDNEY, Neb. -- Wheat Belt Public Power District held a Safety Fair on Friday for 4th to 6th grade Panhandle students.

The Safety Fair was held at The Cheyenne County Fair Grounds and involved nine 15-minute safety sessions throughout the day. Including a presentation from The Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association titled, The Story Behind the Switch.

Over 375 kids participated in the safety fair from Sidney, Bridgeport, Creek Valley, South Platte, and the Homeschool Co-op.

Students were provided with a hotdog for lunch and a bag of cotton candy for dessert. Students also took home a bag full of safety materials.

Other presenters included; Sidney Police Department, Black Hills Corporation, Sidney Veterinary Hospital, South Platte Natural Resource District, Regional West Emergency Medical Services, Wheat Belt PPD, The City of Sidney Electric Dept., Nebraska State Patrol, 21st Century Equipment, and Nebraska Operation Lifesaver.
