SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- Authorities responded to a single-vehicle accident in the panhandle on Mothers' Day.
The Scottsbluff Police Department said that on Sunday, they, along with the Scottsbluff Fire Department, and Valley Ambulance were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.
Authorities were dispatched to South Beltline Hwy West just south of West Overland for the accident.
Officials said that an investigation revealed that a 38-year-old man from Scottsbluff, was driving a motorcycle southbound on S Beltline Hwy West.
The police department said that the location the motorcyclist wrecked is where the road curves and the motorcycle failed to follow the curve of the road.
Authorities said that this caused the driver to lay the motorcycle on its side.
Officials said that the motorcycle then skidded under the guard rail wires and one of the wire support posts was broken off.
The driver was transported to a local hospital.
