Results: First day of Class B state tennis

LINCOLN, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scottsbluff, Gering, and Alliance girls tennis teams in day one of state tennis action on Thursday. Scottsbluff swept their first round matches with wins by Megan Bewley in #1 Singles, Jessica Davis in #2 Singles, Aubrey Barrett and Alyssa Mendoza in #1 Doubles as well as Abby Harveson and Aspyn Andreas in #2 Doubles. Scottsbluff’s season came to an end with losses in round two.

The Gering ladies picking up a first round win as the #2 Doubles team of Jaylei Cervantes and Aria Schneider took on Alliance’s duo of Regan Braun and Kinley Pfeiffer. The first round match was one of the most competitive of the entire day one. As the contest went the distance three sets with the final set going Gering’s way at 11-9. The Gering duo would face the top seed in round two and the Bulldogs saw their season come to an end in two sets.
