NU Notes: Huskers Set for Big Ten Media Day, Fan Day on Tuesday
Tuesday marks the unofficial kickoff to the 2022 Nebraska football season.
Tuesday marks the unofficial kickoff to the 2022 Nebraska football season. Head Coach Scott Frost, Garrett Nelson, Quinton Newsome and Travis Vokolek will take part in the morning session of Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis before returning to Lincoln to participate in Fan Day from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Nebraska will hold its first fall practice on Wednesday as the Huskers gear up for their season opener with Northwestern at the Aer Lingus Classic in Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The Big Ten Network will have live coverage of Big Ten Media Days beginning at 9 a.m. (Central) on Tuesday. Frost will be the first Head Coach to meet the media, as his press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. (Central) on BTN.
After fans hear from players in the morning, they can meet the members of the 2022 Nebraska football team at Fan Day, which starts at 6 p.m. Fans can review Nebraska Football Fan Day Information and view a Fan Day map to plan their evening with the Huskers. Nebraska's 2022 media guide will be available for purchase at the Huskers Shop beginning on Tuesday and team posters will also be available for free at Fan Day.
Fans can continue to get ready for the Aug. 27 season opener with Northwestern at the Aer Lingus Classic in Dublin, Ireland, by checking out the Husker Radio Network's preseason coverage below. The Husker Radio Network will cover Nebraska throughout fall camp on Sports Nightly, which airs each weeknight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Cheyenne County Country (1340 AM, 95.7 FM in Sidney) and can be streamed for free on Huskers.com.

Caron, Matthews Invited to 2022 Major League Dreams Showcase
Josh Caron and Brice Matthews have been selected to participate in the 2022 Major League Dreams Showcase on Tuesday, August 2 at Copeland Park in La Crosse, Wis., the Northwoods League announced Monday.
The annual Showcase consists of a doubleheader featuring the top players from the Northwoods League selected by a panel of Major League Baseball scouts. Prior to the doubleheader, players will participate in a day of workouts in front of the MLB scouts.
The doubleheader starts with game one at 4 p.m. and includes two teams with a mix of players from the Great Plains and Great Lakes Divisions. Caron has been assigned to the home team in game one, while Matthews will play in the nightcap of the doubleheader on the home team.
In 47 games with the Madison Mallards, Caron is hitting .292 with nine doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBI and 31 runs. The Sun Prairie, Wis., native has an OPS of .862 with a .390 on-base percentage and .472 slugging percentage.
Matthews is hitting .264 at the plate with 12 doubles, a triple, five home runs, 22 RBI and 40 runs in 40 games with the St. Cloud Rox. The Humble, Texas, native has drawn 41 walks and stolen 10 bases while posting an OPS of .907 with a .447 on-base percentage and .459 slugging percentage.
Proceeds from the Major League Dreams Showcase will benefit the Northwoods League Foundation.
Husker Volleyball Announces Fan Day on Aug. 20
The Nebraska volleyball program will hold a Fan Day on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Husker players and coaches will sign autographs for two hours from 10 a.m. until Noon. Later that night, the Huskers will play their annual Red-White Scrimmage at 6 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
For Fan Day, autograph tables will be set up on the concourse of the Devaney Center, and a single autograph line will extend around the concourse of the building. One item per person may be signed. Posters for the 2022 season will be available at the autograph table. In an effort to get all fans through the line, no pictures will be permitted with the coaches and players. The clear-bag policy will not be in effect, but all bags will be checked at the entrance.
Fans will use only the North doors to enter the building. The North doors will open right at 10 a.m. Parking will be available in Lots 58 and 60. One concession stand will be open for fans to purchase drinks or candy, and the Huskers Store on the concourse will be open as well.
