The 98th Old Settlers Days begins this weekend

LODGEPOLE, Neb. -- Old Settlers Day's is kicking off Friday night.

Friday afternoon the Turkey Softball Tournament begins.

On Saturday events kick off with a 9:00 a.m. tee time at the Old Settlers' Golf Tournament. The tournament will be at the Chappell Golf Course and costs $200 per team to enter.

At 10:00 a.m. there will be a Platte Valley tractor pull on Front Street near the South Park. From 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. the car, motor, truck, and tractor show on McBride street north of Highway 30. There is a $10 entry fee for this show.

Later that night, at 7:00 p.m. is the annual glow fun run, and then at 9 p.m. a movie will play in the park.

On Sunday, church starts at 9 a.m. followed by a sand volleyball tournament at 10 a.m. The museum will be open from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and bingo is available at the Community Hall from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.

The Old Settlers' Committee burger back is 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and after that the night will end with the Lodgepole Volunteer Fire Dept street dance, beer garden, and live band.

On Labor Day, the Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Lodgepole Rocks. The parade goes through the morning and then the museum opens at 3:00 p.m. Kids events including, games, and horseshoe pitching start at 1:00 p.m. The day ends with free watermelon at 2:00 p.m.
