SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Gering High School S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students have a new tool to keep them motivated.

A futuristic looking Aviation simulator has been introduced for students who are looking for private licenses.

The all-new Redbird aviation flight simulator for students features full motion as it would be in real life scenarios, and a full wrap around display to experience without ever leaving the ground.

The flight simulator isn’t all that Gering High School students will receive; it also comes with a full S.T.E.M curriculum to keep students engaged and was made possible for the $500,000 FAA Workforce Grant.

Lance Wiese Flight Instructor says “For our program we have three areas to it, per our wings program we do drones, expose kids to aviation maintenance and then piloting aircrafts. So our goal is to try and help them get into flying airplanes to get their private pilots license. We get them part 107 commercial drone pilot license and at this point for the aviation maintenance we have WNCC as a AMP program and were working with them and get kids exposed to aviation maintenance and see if that’s something for them.”
