NSP troopers arrest two in traffic stop after finding cocaine, fentanyl
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol said they arrested two people following a traffic stop in Lincoln County this week.
The NSP said they arrested the two, 25-year-old Alfonso Carillo of Arizona and 43-year-old Celso Carillo of Utah, after finding over six pounds of suspected cocaine mixed with fentanyl during the traffic stop.
Around 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the NSP said a trooper did a traffic stop on a BMW SUV for a license plate violation.
The NSP said the traffic stop happened on Interstate 80 near Hershey. It was reported that during the traffic stop the NSP trooper became suspicious of criminal activity.
The trooper then did a search of the vehicle, and the NSP said in the search the trooper found about 6.6 pounds of suspected cocaine/fentanyl mixture.
Authorities reported that the substance mixture was found in a bag in the cargo area.
Alfonso Carillo and Celso Carillo were arrested for possession of an exceptionally hazardous drug, possession of cocaine, and possession with intent to deliver.
The NSP said both of them were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
