HOLYOKE, Neb. -- A man reportedly broke into a couple's house and threatened them while in a pursuit in Chase County.

The Chase County Sheriff's Office said they were asked to help the Holyoke Police Department with a high speed pursuit at 10:00 p.m. on Friday. The pursuit reportedly involved a vehicle that had entered Nebraska and was going east on Highway 6.

Officers said the pursuit continued into Imperial when the suspect turned east on 12th St., running a stop sign at the intersection of 12th St. and Highway 61.

According to authorities, the suspect crossed the highway and went east on 738 Road. The Imperial Police Department joined CCSO and HPD in the pursuit at this point.

Officials said the pursuit continued east for six more miles and then the suspect left the road, went through a field, and onto a minimum maintenance road where the suspect's vehicle got stuck. The suspect reportedly got out of the vehicle and ran into the canyons, losing the officers.

CCSO said the officers checked the vehicle and found out that the driver was wanted for multiple charges in Missouri. Officers reportedly searched for the suspect for hours, using a drone and had help from the Nebraska State Patrol, IPD, and Chase County Emergency Management.

According to authorities, they called off the search early Saturday morning but CCSO continued patrolling the area. Around 5:00 a.m., they reportedly got a report that a person that matched the description of the suspect went into a home near Highway 6.

Officers said the suspect threatened the elderly couple in the home with a knife. CCSO's sheriff and a deputy went to the home but the suspect reportedly fled before they got there.

CCSO said they searched the area again and found the suspect 1 1/2 miles southwest from the home and in a field. They took him into custody and booked him at the Chase County Jail.

Officials said the suspect was charged for terroristic threats, use of a weapon, and flight to avoid. The suspect has the original warrant from Missouri and is also reportedly facing charges in Colorado.
