STERLING, Colo. -- The annual basketball game between the Comets and the Badges will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 13.

The game will be held in the big gym at Northeastern Junior College’s Bank of Colorado Event Center. Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be taken at half-time to help the Comets with expenses throughout the year.

This is the 8th year that the Comets have played basketball against the Badges. The Badges are made up of the Sterling Police Department, Sterling Fire Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado State Patrol and city officials.

Jared Sonnenberg and Jason Santomaso are the coaches this year.

The Sweet Adelines are singing the National Anthem. Northeastern Dance Academy is doing the half-time show.

Admission is free but there will be a chance to give donations at half-time. Donations go directly to the Comets for other activities and expenses they have throughout the year. They finished up bowling season right before going into basketball season. Next comes soccer and then bocce this summer.

There will be snacks and water available to purchase.

Guests are guaranteed to have an evening of entertainment.

The Comets are adult Special Olympians. They range in ages from 21 to 70.
