SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Fair Board discussed changing the definition of the beer garden to be Fair Board managed.

The beer garden concept was first proposed as vendors contracting with the Fair Board, and paying for their own license and inventory. In exchange, the third party, the individual or organization who contracts with the Fair Board, would keep a larger percent of the beer garden revenue.

In the Monday meeting, board member Ryan Filsinger asked if there is a problem with the Fair Board managing the beer garden. Concerns voiced include staffing and potential liability. Jason Juracek said they have not had any liability issues.

The board agreed to the Fair Board acquiring the beer license and purchasing the beer. Volunteer organizations would be welcome to assist and the Fair Board would donate to the organization.

The Fair Board also discussed editing the sponsorship letter and placement of banners.
