OGALLALA, Neb. -- Another day of heavy rainfall could create flooding conditions in southwest Nebraska.

Forecasters said the potential for severe weather in Nebraska is increasing, particularly out west.

The National Weather Service said the worst of the weather will move into the state Thursday afternoon, with towns like Ogallala and Imperial seeing the potential of over three inches of rain.

That's on top of the rain the area has already seen. A rain gauge in Lincoln County Tuesday measured 4.2 inches of rain, and there were multiple reports of almost two inches of additional rain Wednesday in Chase and Kimball Counties.
