The US Air Force is clarifying their needs or real estate as that phase of the Sentinel project continues.
Taylor Walton, Project Lead for Real Estate Activities during the Sentinel project says that in most cases, the Army Corp of Engineers, which is procuring the land for Sentinel, will attempt to make a seven year land leases of properties. In most cases, these properties may only be 60 to 200 feet wide running the length of the corridor that needed for Sentinel infrastructure.
Land purchases will take place. The Army Corp of Engineers will purchase land for the towers that they will put into place. Contractor Northrop-Grumman will need to decide whether they will buy or lease for the Workforce Hub and two Regional Lay Down Yards that are projected to be in Kimball County.
Walton tells us real estate acquisition is an ongoing task and that a number of properties must be acquired before work can begin in any certain area.
While the US Air Force has done its best to notify affected land owners, there are ways to find out if you or your property will be involved in the process. You can go to gbsdeis.com or dial 307-773-3400 with questions about the real estate acquisition process and the Sentinel project in general.
