TORRINGTON - Authorities say a Torrington woman was among three people who died from injuries in a collision Friday afternoon in Goshen County.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, troopers were called to two-vehicle head-on crash near mile marker 112 on US 85 north of Lingle at about 3:45 p.m.

WHP investigators say a southbound Toyota passenger car, driven by 44-year-old Alicia Rodriguez, was struck head-on by a northbound Chrysler minivan that had crossed the center line.

The occupants of the van, 84-year-old Nels Smith and 85-year-old Jeanette Smith, both of Beulah, Wyoming, were also pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver inattention and fatigue are believed to be potential contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, and seat belts were in use by all involved in the collision.

The deaths marked the 97th , 98th and 99th fatalities on Wyoming’s roadways so far this year.
