SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Fairgrounds pavilion was alive with the lights and sounds of the coming Christmas season tonight.

Visitor Center director Kendra Mitchell said  tonight's opening night was well-attended.

"This is our opening night, and so far we've had over 400 people come through the doors to see Santa, and support the fundraisers we have going on out here tonight. We have so many zones you can walk through and really experience the Christmas magic. We've got an enchanted forest, a live nativity, we've got the Old West Town from Gold Rush Days, North Pole, of course, Ginger Bread House from Octoberfest, and an activity area that Viaero sponsored tonight," Mitchell said.

The event started with the concept of bringing the Christmas experience inside, escaping snow and cold. The public is invited to walk the many scenes inside the comfort of the fairgrounds pavilion. There are also patrons offering hot chocolate, popcorn and soft drinks, and baked goods.

The All Is Bright Christmas tour continues on December 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night.
