Four empty Union Pacific rail cars derail near Sidney rail yard

Union Pacific crews were busy in Sidney today cleaning up after a four-car derailment.

SIDNEY -- Union Pacific crews were busy today cleaning up after a four-car derailment near the Union Pacific yard in Sidney.

The derailment started at about 7:30 a.m. today. All four cars were reported empty at the time of the derailment. No injuries occurred during the incident. UP crews were still at the scene near 8th Avenue and Illinois Street at 4 p.m.

The derailment is still under investigation.
