SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District board of education recognized the November 2023 students of the month in the Monday, December 11 board meeting.

The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement. 

These criteria are: 

1. Superior academic performance, (or) dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A., or attitude toward learning.

2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project,

3. Outstanding contribution toward to the class,

4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school,

5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled,

6. Service to school.

Recognized for the November 2023 Performance Awards are:

7th grade -- Caliie Dickman: Callie Dickman has been nominate as the 7th grade student of the month for November. We find Callie to be a very positive student who always strives to do her best. The accountability she demonstrates in the classroom sends out a very positive message to other students and to her teachers. Callie is always ready to help other students and always does so in a very encouraging manner. She leads by example and is an outstanding student. Callie is the daughter of Michael and Rebekah Dickman.

8th grade -- Ravyn Cottam: Ravyn is a positive symbol of what being a Raider means. She is dedicated to completing her work to the best of her abilities and in a timely manner. She works well with other students in a team setting or individually. Ravyn makes the most out of her educational experience by being involved in a variety of extracurricular activities. She is respectful to all students, teachers, staff and anyone involved in the school. Ravyn is a determined and focused student and exemplifies what it means to be a Red Raider. Ravyn is the daughter of Wes and Cathy Lee.

9th grade -- Barrett Weigand: Barrett is a motivated, dedicated student and an amazing partner for collaborative projects. He has outstanding integrity, always helps out and does what he believes is right. Barrett is involved in Cross Country, DECA, student council, band and choir. He is the son of Mindy and Lee Wiegand.

10th grade -- Noel Onate: Noel shows pure academic success. Noel possesses great critical thinking and problem solving skills and does not shy away from a challenge. Additionally, he is dedicated and gifted in his musical abilities. He is a part of band, choir combo band, show choir, HOSA, DECA, One Acts, Speech, and Unified Raiders. Noel is the son of Juana and Saul Onate.

11th grade -- Leeann Mulleavey: Leeann is always polite and ready to learn. She communicates well within sports or school activities . She is a leader in class and works very well with others. She is involved in cross country, wrestling, HOSA and SkillsUSA. Leann is the daughter of Kyle Durkee and Sheree Stewart. 

12th grade -- Isak Doty: Isak is a good student who continually demonstrates integrity. He is a quiet leader, both on and off the field and court. Isak is more than an athlete. His character is second to none. Isak is involved in football, basketball and track. He is the son of Jay and Korrina Doty.
