Sidney firefighters called out on two early morning fires

Sidney firefighters were called to two fires this morning, a structure fire on Elm Street and an earlier fire northwest of Sidney.

SIDNEY -- Firefighters were called to a fire at the Industrial Park northwest of Sidney early this morning.

The call started about 5:16 a.m. today of a shed fire behind a house on Elm Street west of North Elementary School.

The shed was a total loss, and no injuries were reported. Traffic on Elm Street between 17th and 18th was restricted until about 7 a.m. while firefighters cleared the scene. Eight firefighters and two apparatus responded to the fire.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.

Prior to the fire on Elm Street, firefighters were called to a fire at the Industrial Park northwest of Sidney.
