SCOTTSBLUFF - Randal Devlin, of Scottsbluff, got into distance running eight years ago. Since then, he's completed several marathons, half marathons, 10 and 5 K's and even a 50K. This summer, he'll complete his longest run over a six-day period in support of multiple sclerosis awareness.

Devlin, who's wife Debi suffers from MS, will run 165 miles - from Wray, Colo. to Holdrege, Neb. - this June to raise funds, support and awareness for MS. Devlin's stretch is one leg of the "MS Run the U.S. Relay Run" from California to New York.

"This is a disease that can be beaten, but it takes time, paitents and funding," Devlin said. "Please help me in my goal to raise $10,000 for MS run the US this year by supporting my run. Every donation is important, and there is no time like the present to help your friends, family and neighbors."

MS, or multiple sclerosis, is a disease that effects the central nervous system and disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and the body. MS causes damage to the myelin, the protective layer that insulates nerve fibers and disrupts signals to the brain.

The affect and progress of this disease vary greatly. That's why it is so hard to predict its course and so far to not find a cure.
