SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District Board of Education accepted two teacher resignations, and approved two contracts in the March 11 meeting.

Cody Hofrock resigned his position as high school physical education teacher, weights instructor, assistant football coach and head wrestling coach.

His resignation is effective at the end of the school year.

In his resignation letter, Hofrock thanked the administration for the opportunity to work at Sidney High School.

"I have greatly enjoyed my position to work with the students and administration at Sidney Public School. This job I held with a lot of job and responsibility as this was the district I grew up in. I really appreciate how much support I have received from everyone as a teacher and a coach at Sidney Public Schools," he said in his resignation letter.

He said he is looking forward to his new opportunity in the Northern Colorado area.

Sidney High School math teacher Silke Hunker also submitted her resignation.

"I have made this decision after careful consideration and reflection on what is best for my professional growth, personal well-being and family," she said in her resignation.

The board then approved a teacher contract for Seth Studnicka and for Jachob Wiedeburg. Wiedeburg will be an elementary teacher and Studnicka will teach secondary level math. Wiedeburg has a Masters of Arts in School Principalship K-8 and Studnika has a bachelor of Science in Education with a 6-12 Mathematics endorsement.
