Rollover accident south of North Platte injures six people

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Six people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a rollover accident south of North Platte.

The accident happened at 4:45 p.m. on Highway 83 near Brown Road.

Law enforcement with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old North Platte woman was traveling south on Highway 83 when she attempted to turn left onto Brown Road and struck a northbound Ford Ranger on the passenger side causing it to roll on its top.

Sergeant Derek Hanna said two three-year-old children were in the truck properly restrained and sustained minor injuries. Bystanders helped the the driver in the Ford and her passengers safely get out.

All six occupants sought treatment at Great Plains Health for minor injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash. No citations were given.
