Children enjoy Storytime at Kimball Public Library

KIMBALL -- Storytime for kids ages 3-5 is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Kimball Public Library.
Each week, Children’s Librarian Amelia Shada reads 3-4 books to them, followed up by an activity for the kids that goes along with that week’s theme. The week before Easter, Shada read Easter themed books. Another week was focused on Dr. Seuss in celebration of his birthday.
If your child isn’t quite 3 years old but they can sit quietly and participate, they are welcome. If you have younger children too that you need to bring along with your older child, that is also allowed.
Storytime on Wednesdays will end May 8 and resume for the summertime on Fridays instead, starting May 31.
“The more that [children] can be here, interact with us, be comfortable in the space, the better they’re going to do with being comfortable with books and encourage their literacy,” Kimball Library Director Amber Sweetland said. “One of the things I personally love most about what we do is getting a book in a child’s hands and seeing them light up with that joy of reading.”
