SIDNEY -- First there was the soft opening, then the Grand Opening, and then there was the ribbon cutting with the chamber of commerce.

Boss City Brewing Company celebrated with the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce Thursday, May 9, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Owners Stan and Melissa Norgard thanked the community for its support.

"We just want to say thank-you to the whole community and all of our friends and family for your support along the way," Melissa Norgard said.

She said getting Boss City Brewing open has taken a lot of effort and time.

"This has been a long journey, but worth it," she said.

The Norgards started selling craft beer while at the former location, Sam & Louie's Italian Restaurant and New York Pizzeria in Sidney. As the beer business grew, they looked toward a new location.

She said they are looking forward to a long and successful future in Cheyenne County. Stan Norgard added that the customer support while at the previous location helped move Boss City forward.

"And also, we really want to thank everyone here, and the community itself. We would never have gotten this far and been able to do this if it wasn't for the patrons that came into the old place when we were just doing five gallons at a time," he said.

He said the feedback from patrons and the community helped the Boss City staff perfect their offerings.

"We perfected what we're doing now through the help of you guys and your feedback, and we wouldn't be here without the support of the community of Sidney and the surrounding areas. Thank you, and we love you guys," he said.
