KIMBALL -- The Kimball Jr./Sr. High School basketball players have a busy summer of staying on top of their game.

The Jr. and Sr. High Boys Basketball coaches organize their respective team practices throughout June.

The players meet up with their teams twice per week for an hour in the mornings to practice their offense, defense and shooting.

“If they want to get better at offense, defense, and shooting the ball, they have that opportunity to come to the gym to work on those skills during the summer so come November they are ready to roll for practice and their season,” said High School Basketball Head Coach Trevor Anderson.

The high school team also competes in the summer league in Scottsbluff. They will play every Monday evening for four weeks, starting June 10.

Anderson said the elementary-aged Boys Basketball Camp had an excellent turnout this past Wednesday and Thursday, which was organized by the Jr. and Sr. High Boys Basketball staff, with assistance from the high school players.

“For the elementary kids, it was more about having fun, and the main thing is to get a basketball in their hands,” Anderson said.

The kids are also encouraged to practice their dribbling and shooting through the remainder of the summer.
