SIDNEY - No injuries have been reported in a pair of vehicle fires in Sidney Thursday night.

Members of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department responded to reported pickup that had caught fire and was threatening a home at 14th Ave. and Spruce Street at approximately 10:20 p.m.

15 minutes later, at approximately 10:35 p.m., a semi-tractor-trailer had reportedly caught fire at Floyd's Truck Center at 818 Hoffies Dr. The trailer was disconnected from the truck. The semi-tractor was reportedly melted down to a pile of aluminum and steal.

Firefighters were spraying down an adjacent trailer of lumber as a precaution. Medical personnel tended to one fire fighter with reported heat issues.

No cause of the vehicle fires has been announced. Mutual aid was called to the Potter Volunteer Fire Department in case of any further fire calls.

In Bridgeport, school officials are blaming fireworks for a fire that ignited on the roof of the elementary school at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The fire was held to the roof of the building, but the inside of the school did sustain water damage.
