SIDNEY -- The 2024 Sidney Garden Club Tour is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20.

Tickets can be purchased at the Living Memorial Gardens the day of the tour, and at the Sidney Public Library, 1112 12th Ave. Tickets are $15 each.

The tour can be taken in any order the ticket holder chooses. This year's tour consists of five private gardens and a special showing of three public gardens.

Garden Club members Dana Revell and Starline Platt talked about what to expect on the tour.

"We're not letting people know exactly where these are. We'll tell them all about it on our Facebook. But we're not telling them where they are," Platt said.

The tickets include names and addresses of the entries for the tour. Participants are encouraged to vote for your favorite garden after touring the eight entries. The winner will receive a $100 prize.

"Star used to belong to a garden club in Minnesota, and they did garden tours. And I know Scottsbluff used to do them too. Our garden group started talking about it and just decided to try to do one," Revell said.

The Sidney Garden Club meets at the Sidney Public Library 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the first Saturday of each month.
